oil tanker

3 comments:

  1. That is NOT an oil tanker! That is a "bulk" cargo ship. They carry bulk commodity cargoes like grain, ore, coal, etc. This particular one carries ore.

The large square hatches are your sign this isn't an oil tanker, since oil isn't loaded into tankers by dumping buckets of oil into a large open hatch.

Here's a bunch of info on this particular ship: http://www.aukevisser.nl/supertankers/bulkers/id191.htm

  2. Notice that it is already noted that this not a tanker. This is a bulk carrier for iron ore, grain, coal etc. Stuff they can't load into containers or pour into tanks. There are combi OBO's (Oil/Bulk/Ore) but they have have manifolds as well as hatches.
